How to earn points

For players who finish in the money, points will be awarded using our PokerStars Live League formula.

For players who finish outside of the money, points are awarded at the rate of 20% the value of the min-cash points.

The PokerStars Live League is a Leader Board competition where players earn points by participating in eligible events. Players can win live event credits that can be used to buy in to live event tournaments based on their League rankings. Plus, there's also the chance to qualify for a €100,000 freeroll at the first EPT of 2027.

You can participate by playing in eligible PokerStars Live events and earning points based on your rankings.

Points are awarded based on the PokerStars Live League 2026 formula. They are based on three factors: buy-in, number of entries and a player’s finishing position in the tournament.

There are three Leader Board tiers:

  • Low Buy-In: Smaller buy-ins for accessible competition, e.g. PokerStars Cup events and regular side events at PokerStars Opens and EPT events with buy-ins of up to €/£/$1,200.
  • Medium Buy-In: For players competing in mid-stakes events, e.g. PokerStars Opens, PokerStars Open High Roller events and EPT Main Events with buy-ins from €/£/$1,000 to €/£/$5,500.
  • High Buy-In: For high-stakes players with larger buy-ins, e.g. EPT Main Events, EPT High Roller and Super High Roller events with buy-ins of €/£/$4,900 or more.

No, you earn points based on your finishing position. Even if you don’t cash, you will still accumulate Leader Board points at 20% the rate of the min cash. For example, if the first player to min cash gets 50 points, all players who did not cash will get 10 points.

Prizes include:

  • Tournament entries to major PokerStars Live events for the top three players in each tier (total value of all prizes is €157,700).
  • The top 30 players from all tiers will be given an entry to play in a freeroll with a €100,000 prize pool at the first EPT of 2027.

Yes. Anyone eligible to participate in PokerStars Live events can win any of the prizes on offer.

At the end of the 2026 PokerStars Live League, the top 30 finishers from each of the three tiers will be eligible for an entry to a €100,000 freeroll tournament that will be held during the first EPT in 2027.

Yes. Anyone eligible to participate in PokerStars live events can win any of the prizes, including players from the USA, Russia, Australia, Netherlands, etc.

No. live event credits can only be used for tournament buy-ins, allowing the winner and runners up to play specified PokerStars Live events in 2027. Any cash won from those tournament buy-ins will be paid as cash or via bank transfer.

No, the value of the prizes won and the €100,000 freeroll is covered by PokerStars and there will be no deductions from prize pools or additional rake/registration fees.

You can track your Leader Board rankings via the PokerStars Live app or on the PokerStars Live website.

Yes. If you play tournaments across different buy-ins, you can appear on multiple Leader Boards simultaneously.

No, only eligible PokerStars Live events count toward the Leader Boards.

1. These Terms and Conditions are organised and administered by Rational Live Events (Malta) Limited, with its principal offices at Spinola Park, Level 2, Triq Mikiel Ang Borg, St Julians SPK 1000, Malta (“PokerStars” or “we”).

2. Any player that registers for and participates in the:

(together, the “League”) will automatically be eligible to accumulate Points at each tournament they play in, climb the rankings and collect prizes depending on their finishing position at the end of the League (the “PS Live League 2026 Rankings”), unless they have opted out or have been disqualified by PokerStars or due to any other exclusionary events set out in these Terms and Conditions.

To opt out of the PS Live League 2026 Rankings, a player must send a request by email to: live@pokerstarslive.com with the subject heading ‘PS Live League Opt Out’.

3. PS Open 2026 and EPT 2026 shall consist of the following events, and such other events that may be announced by PokerStars throughout 2026 (together with the PokerStars Irish Open 2026, each, an "Event"):

TourEvent
PS Open 2026PS Open Campione
PS Open 2026PS Open Namur
PS Open 2026PS Open Malaga
EPT 2026EPT Paris
EPT 2026EPT Monte-Carlo
EPT 2026EPT Barcelona

4. Each Event consists of: (i) the main event; and (ii) side tournaments, with a real money (cash) buy-in (not including satellites). Any PS Open 2026 and EPT 2026 Events still to be announced will be included in the above list of Events when they are announced and their details, and any changes to Event dates, will be added to the PokerStars Live page here: https://www.pokerstarslive.com/.

5. Points will only be awarded to players participating in tournaments that are part of the initial advertised Event schedule on the PokerStars Live page (https://www.pokerstarslive.com/) and/or on the PokerStars Live app before the start of play at the first tournament of an Event. If new tournaments are added to an Event after an Event has commenced, players will not be eligible to receive Points at these tournaments. For example, if a new tournament is added to an EPT 2026 Event after the first tournament of that EPT 2026 Event has started (in locations where PokerStars is permitted to alter the Event schedule), players will not be eligible to be awarded Points during that newly announced tournament as it was not part of the initial Event schedule.

6. The PokerStars Live and PSLive System Terms & Conditions located at https://www.pokerstarslive.com/about/tos/ apply to all players’ participation in the Events. Players will also be required to obtain a casino card to enter Event locations.

7. Players must be at least 18 years of age or over the legal age of majority in their resident jurisdiction (whichever is greater) to participate in the PS Live League 2026 Rankings. Participating players may be asked at any time to provide PokerStars or a third party acting on behalf of PokerStars with proof of age and/or government issued identity document (passport or valid picture ID). If a participating player is unable to produce such proof of age on request, they will be disqualified from the PS Live League 2026 Rankings.

8. PS Live League 2026 Rankings Points (“Points”) will be awarded to players participating in eligible tournaments based upon the PS Live League 2026 calculator in the ‘PokerStars Live App’, which can be downloaded here for Apple users: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pokerstars-live/id549121555, and here for Android users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.europeanpokertour.www&hl=en&gl=GB. Players participating in restricted tournaments (such as women-only and/or seniors-only tournaments) will also be eligible to be awarded Points. The formula to award Points can be found in the PS Live League 2026 calculator in the ‘PokerStars Live App’. Points will be awarded based on a player’s finishing position at the conclusion of a tournament.

9. Points will only be awarded to players participating in tournaments that have at least 10 entries. If a tournament does not have at least 10 entries, players will not be awarded Points during that tournament. For example, a tournament starts with 8 players, it would therefore not have 10 entries. If 2 players are eliminated but then re-enter the tournament (in tournaments where PokerStars permits players to re-enter a tournament), this would qualify as 10 entries, and players in this tournament would then be eligible to earn Points.

10. Players that finish ‘in the money’ (i.e. those who have won a cash prize) will earn Points based on their finishing position. For players who don’t finish in the money, Points are awarded at the rate of 20% the value of the min-cash Points (the lowest Points awarded to a player that receive a cash payout).  For example, in a tournament with 1,000 entries, a $1,100 buy-in, and with 15% of the field paid (meaning the top 150 players finish ‘in the money’ and will receive a cash payout), the player who finishes in 150th place (the first player to receive a minimum cash prize) will receive 69.57 Points. All other players who finished outside of the paying places, i.e. 151st to 1,000th, they will receive 20% of that amount, which in this example would be 13.91 Points.

11. To win a prize from the PS Live League 2026 Rankings, players must accumulate the highest number of Points with prizes being awarded to the 3 players with the highest number of Points in each of the 3 tiers (as set out below) at the end of the League (after the PokerStars Irish Open 2026, the PS Open 2026 and the EPT 2026 tours have all concluded). The League is split into 3 tiers according to the buy-in amount, as detailed below:

a. Low tier: all tournaments with a buy-in equal or less than €/£/$1,200;

b. Medium tier: all tournaments with a buy-in of €/£/$1,000 to €/£/$5,500; and

c. High tier: all tournaments with a buy-in of €/£/$4,900 and greater.

Further information about buy-in options can be found here: https://www.pokerstarslive.com/ept/buy-in/. Players can win Points by participating in any of the individual tournaments of the League, and they can also participate in each of the 3 tiers (as set out above). Players will be eligible to win Points in more than one tier in any one tournament. There will be 9 prizes awarded in total, and prizes for the top 3 players at the end of the League will be as follows:

3rd Prize: €12,500 PSLive account credit3rd Prize: €6,250 PSLive account credit3rd Prize: €3,750 PSLive account credit

12. Additional Prize: At the end of the League (i.e. after the last Event comprising the League has concluded), the top 30 finishers of each tier will be invited to participate in a freeroll tournament to be held during the first EPT event of 2027. This freeroll tournament will have a €100,000 prize pool, of which eligible players will be awarded a prize, in varying amounts, depending on their finishing position at the end of the freeroll tournament (the “Additional Prize”).

13. All players who are invited to participate in the freeroll tournament during the first EPT event of 2027 will be contacted by the PokerStars Registrations team to the email registered on their PokerStars Live account with more information on the tournament dates and location. All players who win a prize (including the Additional Prize) will be contacted by the PokerStars Registrations Team to the email registered on their PokerStars Live account. All prizes will be awarded within 30 days of the final winners being determined. Winner names will be published on the PokerStars Live page here: https://www.pokerstarslive.com.

14. All entries into tournaments are non-transferable, and prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for money, money’s worth or consideration of any kind. Winners are responsible for payment of any and all taxes, licences, registrations and other fees associated with the prizes. If prizes are being paid through wire transfer, players will be required to provide identification documentation to comply with international anti-money laundering regulations.

15. Deal making. If players in an Event confer, negotiate and/or agree amongst themselves to alter, divide, share or distribute the prize pool payout for that Event in any manner other than as stipulated by PokerStars, then the Points for that Event will be awarded as follows:

a) After cash prize-winning positions have been reached (i.e. these players are ‘in the money’), Points will: (i) be awarded to players who receive a cash payout based on their finishing position at the Event; and (ii) be capped at the number of Points that would be awarded to the lowest ranked finishing position in receipt of a cash payout. By way of example only, if a deal to split the prize pool for an Event is made with 3 players remaining, all 3 players will receive Points for third place; or

b) Before cash prize-winning positions have been reached, resulting in a prize being awarded to a player in a position outside of the cash prize-winning positions: all such players will receive Points equal to the highest finishing position that was not ‘in the money’. By way of example only, in an Event with 12 entries where only the top 2 positions receive a cash prize (these top 2 players will be ‘in the money’), where the final 3 players agree to split the prize pool before the cash prize winning spots have been reached, all 3 players will receive the scheduled Points for third place (which is not an ‘in the money’ position).

16. If, at the end of the League (i.e. after the last Event comprising the League has concluded), 2 or more players tie on Points in relation to any prize, then the tied player with the highest finishing position in the main event will win that prize. If more than one tied player has the same highest finishing position in a main event, then the tied player with the next highest finishing position in a main event will win the applicable prize. This process will be repeated until the winners of all 9 prizes have been determined.

17. If a player believes there is a mistake in the Points awarded in the PS Live League 2026 Rankings and/or if they need to contact PokerStars, either with a general query or to make a complaint, they should, at any time during the League and/or at the latest within 30 days of the prize winners being announced, send full details by email to: live@pokerstarslive.com with the subject heading ‘PS Live League 2026 Rankings Query’.

18. We may change these Terms and Conditions at any time, in our discretion, for example to correct information, suspend or cancel the PS Live League 2026 Rankings, reflect changes to the PS Live League 2026 Rankings or our business practices, or to comply with applicable law or a change in our regulatory requirements. We will tell all players participating in the PS Live League 2026 Rankings about any significant changes to these Terms and Conditions before they take effect. Players will be deemed to have accepted the changes to these Terms and Conditions if they continue to participate in any tournament or Event after the date such changes take effect.

19. How we use your information. Further information about our processing of your personal data and your rights under data protection can be accessed via the PokerStars Live Privacy Policy found here.

20. We reserve the right to void any Points that would have been awarded to a player at a tournament and/or disqualify any person from the PS Live League 2026 Rankings for reasons including but not limited to the player breaking any PS Live League 2026 Rankings rules, or rules of any Event or tournament within an Event, being overly intoxicated, being abusive towards any person at any Event, or any similar behavior which in our reasonable discretion is unsuitable or inappropriate during any Event.

21. Limitation of liability: Players agree that other than as required by applicable law, PokerStars shall not be liable to any player for any losses, damages, claims or other expenses arising from these Terms and Conditions.

22. Governing law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malta. Players agree that any dispute concerning or arising out of these Terms and Conditions will be decided by the courts of Malta. Nothing in this Clause shall limit the right of PokerStars and its affiliates to take proceedings against any player in any other court of competent jurisdiction, nor shall the taking of proceedings in any one or more jurisdictions preclude the taking of proceedings in any other jurisdictions, whether concurrently or not, to the extent permitted by the law of such other jurisdiction.

23. Prevailing language: The English language version of these Terms and Conditions will take precedence if there is any discrepancy between it and any translated versions of the Terms and Conditions.
